Onkololeessa  2, bara 2016, ummata Oromoo daangaa Oromiyaa mara irraa miliyoonotaan Bishooftutti yaa’ee nagayaan IRREEFFATAA oole, sirni gita bittuu Tigree qilleensaa fi lafaan humna waraanaa itti bobbaaftee gara jabeennaan namoota dhibbootaan  laakkayamu galaafattee jirti. Mootummaan Tigree, ummata coqorsa fi daraaraa jiidhaa malee  hidhannoo  hinqabne irratti, meeshaa woraanaa haga xayyaaraan baatutti itti duulchiftee haala suukaneessaan tarkaanfii sanyii duguuggaa irratti raawwachuu isii Kallachi Walabummaa Oromiyaa (KWOn), dalansuu guddaan yaadata; gochaa diinaa kanas cimsee balaleffata.

Guyyaa adhaa  Bishooftuun  Aanolee fi Calanqoo  gadaa teennaa taatee galmooftee jirti. Mootummaan Tigree ammoo, hidhee ibiddaan ummata keenna woddaa, qe’ee teenna iratti rasaasaan nu akaaya, kana hunda bira dabarsee, bakka ayyaana hundee Oromummaa keennaa ta’e IRREESSA itti kabajannu gubbatti nu fixuun isaa,  guddisee nu laalessee jira.

Kallachi Walabummaa Oromiyaa, woyyaaneen, afaan  qawweetiin nu mooyatte, qawwee malee akka hinkufne yeroo gara garaatitti ejjannoo isaa ummata Oromootii ibsuu bira darbee, dalagaadhaanis ummata Oromoo bira dhaabachuu isaa argarsiisaa jira. Hujiiwwan gulantaa jalaqabaa irra jiran kanniin ammoo, sadarkaa diina haleelee, Oromiyaa keessaa haxayee baasu danda’u irra geessuuf hirmaannaa olaanaa ummata Oromoo biyyaa keessaa fi alaa gaafata.

Nagayaan biyya keenna irra jiraachuu, hojjachuu, barachuu, fi dubbachuu yoo hindanda’in, qabeenna keenna irratti abbaa ta’uu yoo dadhabne, nagayaan IRREEFFATUU yoo hindanda’in, walumaa galatti OROMUMMAAN YAKKA biyya itti ta’e keessatti, WALABUMMAA YOOKAAN DU’A jennee qabsotti bayuu malee wanti nubaasu hinjiru. Kanaa ol obsuun, ykn karaa nagayaatiin mirga keenna gonfanna jechuun, hawwii GAANGEE DHALA EEGUUTIIN adda hinjiru. Nagayaan bayanii galuun yoo kan hindandeennee, “QABSOON NAGAYAA” akkamitti danda’ama? Woreegama haga adha kan falame firii itti godhuuf QABSOON HIDHANNOO jabaatuu qaba. Qabsoon nagayaa, yoo qabsoo  hidhannootiin hin deegaramin , QABSOO KADHAA ta’a. Bilisummaan kadhaan argamte hin jirtu.

Kanaafuu, ummanni Oromoo, bakka jirtu maratti, sirna bulguu, KAN ILMAAN TEE NYAATAA JIRU, kan amala namooma  uf keessaa hinqabne kana, hiddaan buqqifsuuf tokkumaan waldhaansoo finiinsi.  Qabeennaan, humna namaatiin, qaamaa fi surriin ijaaramtee, hidhattee, damaqinnaan qabsoo Kallachi Walabummaa Oromiyaa biyya keessatti geggeessaa jiru cinaa akka dhaabattu waamicha isinii goona. Yaa ummata Oromoo, kaabaa fi kibbaa, bahaa fi dhiyaa waliif birmachuudhaan danbalii worraaqsaa uumnee, woyyaannee hagatti akka galchinu fi gumaa ummata keennaa akka baafanu adha irraa eeglee waan qabdan maraan qabsoo bilisumaa fi wolabuummaa Oromiyaf godhamtu bira akka dhaabbatan waamicha lammumaa isniif goona .

Front for Independence of Oromia’s Statement on Bishooftuu Massacre

The Bishooftuu carnage of Oromo people by the minority Tigre regime will not

deter Oromo struggle except for expediting the demise of the tyranny

The Front for Independence of Oromia (FIO) is deeply maimed by the TPLF’s

meticulously planned and executed atrocious crime on Oromo people, who were

peacefully celebrating “Ayyaana-Irreecha,” annual ceremony at Bishooftuu

historical site. On Sunday, October 2, 2016, the Tigrean government ruling

Ethiopia deployed its elite killing squad under the disguise of police and massacred

hundreds of innocent Oromo people gathered holding nothing but Crown grass and

flowers. Dozens of innocent men and women: young children and pregnant

mothers, senior citizens, and other people who have come-out to take part in the

Irreechaa ceremony were dreadfully killed and gravely injured from the top-down

drizzling bullets and tear gas. Hundreds were drowned in the Bishooftuu Lake,

trying to shield self; more troubling, thousands of Oromo people were handcuffed

and transported to the TPLF-Woyane prison cells, and that includes badly

wounded and unconscious victims.

Front for Independent of Oromia (FIO) is tormented by this heinous genocidal act

perpetrated by tyrant regime and condemns the evil act with the strongest term

possible. Front for Independence of Oromia (FIO) mourns for the loss of hundreds

of innocent lives by the sinister regime, and concurrently would like to call upon

Oromo in all walks of life, abroad and at home, to unite and intensify the fight until

those perpetrators brought to justice.

We still mourn and remember Anole and Chalanqo, the right arm mutilation of

men and breast of girls and women by minority Amhara elites in the 19th century.

Today, the deliberate destruction of innocent Oromo lives by the Tigre regime at

Bishooftuu “Irreechaa” celebration has gone down in history books as the

replication of those despicable cruelties of Anole and Chalanqo.

Front for Indpendence of Oromia (FIO) calls up on international community: the

US, EU, AU, and the UN to immediately deploy an independent body for the

investigation of the inhuman act the TPLF regime inflicted on the Oromo nation

for the last one year and the Bishooftuu massacre in particular.

Herewith, the FIO would like to reiterate its commitment more than ever before to

stand with the Oromo resistance and contribute its part to the Oromo people’s

struggle for regaining its God given rights, until such noble cause is achieved.

Front for Independence of Oromia (FIO), therefore, would like to send a strong

message to all Oromos to keep up its resistance at every front against this tyrant

regime until it is fully deposed of Oromia. To this end, all Oromo shall work hard

to gather its strength, organize resources, deploy every bit of knowledge and stand

by the Front for Independence of Oromia (FIO) in the fight against the common

enemy.
