The Oromo community members in Victoria Australia are deeply saddened by the sudden death of the great Oromo national hero Jaarraa Abbaa Gadaa who passed away on 03 March 2013 in Yemen.
Jaarraa Abbaa Gadaa, was a long-standing Oromo nationalist who made tremendous positive and crucial contributions to the founding and development of the Oromo freedom struggle. His death was a great loss for his family, and for our people and for all freedom loving people at large. He was an exceptional person, who was driven with passion and determination for freedom and human dignity of Oromo people.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of such a great father, leader and freedom fighter who dedicated himself almost for half a century of struggle in the interest of the Oromo cause. We wish to express our deep condolence to his family and our sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
At the point we are expressing our profound and heartfelt sorrow, we know that Jaarraa Abbaa Gadaa passed away only physically but not spiritually. His spirit of unwavering resistance will live in the minds and hearts of our people. As a legend of Oromo heroes, he will be the dynamic force of our history and the source of inspiration for our freedom struggle. Hence, we kindly invite the Oromo community members in Melbourne and surrounding to the memorial gathering of the late Jaarraa Abbaa Gadaa on 10 March 2013 at the following time and place.
